Small T01 C01

To those of you who missed today's: 'Introduction To Small Business' Class, it was actually pretty good. I didn't expect for it to work out so well but it really did. I decided to recreate the hit TV Show "Sharktank" by having 2 teams create products and a panel of investors for these products to be pitched to. The first team comprised of Uniquepad, Nines, bernadettemay and paisley12. While the second team was made up of r1221, Jewelz01, marydriguez. Our panel of investors consisted of : Hersheykissyum and MajesticZ.

 

The item pitched was to be an item of summer clothing: The teams were asked to pick a Teams name and motto.                                                                                         Mary's group came up with: Summer Blossom an urban company which produced an outfit perfect to switch from a day at the beach to a night on the town.

Bernadette's team created : The Reflection Of Future Summer Swimwear and they produced an excellent outfit perfect for the beach.

The investors asked a series of questions and the focus group judged the responses, a final score of 7.5 was awarded to both teams. The purpose of the lesson was to teach students that in order to make your business grow you need investors and in order to gain investors you need an organised business, a registered one, a motto, admit to flaws and in product, speak about the product, give a pitch and sell the item to a team of consumers and adjust the product.  

Students were successfully able to figure out the purpose of the game and they got the lesson out on their own: Congrats to Bernadettemay, Hersheykissyum, skittlez99 etc for figuring it out!

We then decided to take a couple group photos as seen from above.

All in all the class was a blast and was quite successful as students understood what was thought and enjoyed the lesson fully. Stay tuned for next weeks class and read up on the following terms:

Woozers School Paper Notice: Calling All The Bloggers!

Hey there Students, as part of making the whole virtual college a bit more realistic, I have decided to introduce and chair a school newspaper. Introducing the ______________________? We don't have a name yet?!? Oh oh, I guess you will have to pitch some ideas ;) In the comments section below suggest names for the School Newspaper, the top 5 will be reviewed and voted on and the winning title will be the name for our future newspaper, upon this we will create our virtual paper which will include articles on: ____, ___________, ___________, __________, ? You suggest what you want to see! When the virtual paper is created a select group of students will become the Woozer Press, they will be added to the paper and will be able to blog about the day's activities and articles which would interest them and their readers. The students who join the paper will also be added as bloggers on trial on our sister website Deadline Rewritten <------  Click the name to check it out.  So let's hear your ideas, name suggestions and what ever else you want in the paper. The control lies in you. So come on guys: Be the voice , be the change and be the difference our school needs. The yearbook committee will also aid in this venture. By Saturday the paper will be open and a Join form will be submitted. You will be notified via this website, where you can get a link to the new school paper. NOTICE: AN OFFICIAL CODE OF CONDUCT

After careful observation of the behaviour of some our students, it seems clear that the schools' rules needs to be reinstated to each and everyone of you. The following post will cover a list of rules for the following:

• Student Code Of Conduct

• Staff Code Of Conduct

• Dress Code

• Chatroll Code Of Conduct

The post shall also address the consequences for the above topics.

Number 1: The Student Code Of Conduct.

• Students are to be on time for classes
• Students must respect one another and be kind to one another
• Cursing words, abbreviations and phrases that contain illicit language is strictly prohibited.
• All students are expected to show respect to all their teachers, peers, the administration staff, deans as well as all other members of staff.
• Students should pay attention in class, and not move around or disrupt a teaching session
• Bullying and sexual behaviour will not be tolerated under ANY circumstances!
• Students should not constantly annoy members of staff for petty matters 
• Students should not leave class and go to another class room to disrupt it. Once you choose a major you attend ALL classes for that day!
• Report all instances to either SilverFaith, happyguy6 and the Deans vis messages.

Consequences If these rules are broken.

• The student will be given a maximum of three (3) warnings
• After 3 warnings a detention shall be issued.
• After 2 detentions in a week, a letter of suspension will be sent, and we will be able to control who enters our classes.
• After suspension the student will be expelled, once expelled you will no longer be able to walk or attend any classes on campus
• As for bullying, swearing, impersonation and threats, the matter and your woozen name will be reported to a woozguide (And I am close with all) and each member of staff as well as the victim will report the bully to the Woozworld Team.

Staff Code Of Conduct.

• Members of staff should be on time or should provide an excuse if they won't be present prior to classes so arrangements can be made and the schedule can be reorganised.
• Staff are to be polite, dress well and speak well.
• Staff are not to curse, bully or abuse their power.
• Staff should report all instances of misbehaviour to the Principal and Vice Principal, no issue is to small to simply be ignored.
• Staff should be respectful to both other staff members and students

Dress Code

At Woozers College we pride ourselves on letting students express their personality and who they are via clothes, however there are limits to what you can wear. We ask all teachers to dress professionally or casually business for classes and events. Students please do not dress in a sexual manner or a 'naked manner' as in wearing clothes the same as your skin colour to create a naked look. This will not be tolerated. Also no student should insult or make fun of another student for their outfit decisions please..

Chat Code Of Conduct.

New Year New System :Notic

To whom it may concern,

Hey Woozer Dino Applicants of 2k15, Woozers College Administration here with some exciting news on our new class system that kicks into effect hopefully from July. We know the month of June is when you now leave your actual schools so we will try our best to make the work load a bit easier! So as for June, it's more of a fun months (Yes there will be classes but also fun events!) However, in July work goes into full swing. 

Starting Tomorrow, We kick off the school year with our annual opening ceremony: Principals speech, Vice Principals Speech, Students Questions etc. Now we have been doing class reviews and we've notice around 68% of our actual students are stuck in queue for most of the class and we have a trail programme to test. This trial programme is not only going to aid in the queue but it will make our college feel a bit more realistic. Students, will be given the opportunity to choose from the following major themes/houses whatever y'all want to call it.

1. Law
2. Sciences
3. Modern Studies
4. Cosmetology 
5. Fashion
6. Art & Design 
7. TBA
8. TBA.

Meaning that we will have more classes taking place at once. If you don't understand let me explain, each major theme will have subjects under them so let's say it's Monday and it's 9:30 PM WT (First Period) 

Law students would be at their first period

Science at theirs

Modern Studies at theirs 

And so on!

So yes we will be trying out multiple classes, so just like a real college you can pick what you want to do so if you hate math it isn't compulsory. Now we haven't fully decided if and when this programme will be tested (Hopefully this year) as The Principal and V.Principal have to work this out with the staff because more classes at the same time means more teachers and honestly it is a lot of work. We are hoping we can launch this but if not there's always next year right!

Letter of Welcome

Dear Future and Returning Woozers,

Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is SilverFaith but I really would like you guys to call me Sil haha, or Ms. Sil if you're trying to impress me ?? I'm the owner and principal of Woozers College. The summer of 2015 will be the third year this college has been running and each year has been wonderful, filled with memories and friendships to last a lifetime. This year we will be holding more events, different classes as well as your old favorites, and of course, more student-initiated stances in the school. For those of you who know me, if the students need anything, I'll make sure to get it done. Whether that is clubs, events, classes, anything at all. But more on that when the school year starts. You may also have heard I am one tough cookie...I get mad and annoyed very easily, but I'm hard on you because I want to see you succeed and gain as much from the experience as possible. So sorry in advance if I scare you but trust me the students I was harshest to are to this day some of my best friends. We are still deciding a proper date but the opening will definitely be in the next one or two weeks. After our first formal meeting during the opening days assembly, a scheduled and more organized posts will be assembled. Remember the school day starts at 9:30PM wooztime, sorry this time cannot be changed because of my time zone (its still pretty early for me); If I am not here to greet you or teach you, my staff knows the drill and will take over. (Staff is TBA).

Quick Side note: those of you who seemed to have "graduated" and say would like to enroll again, please go right ahead! College isn't always a 1 or 2 year program.

1) The Graduation Unitz Will Be Hosted By Happyguy6
2) To enter the graduation unitz You'll need a key.
3) To obtain a key you must purchase it in the key unitz on Happyguy6's woozen
4) A key costs 295 beex.
5) Keys go on sale one hour before graduation on Sunday @8:00pm WT
6) Key distribution ends at @8:30pm WT
7) No keys will be given for free or on credit.
8) ONLY GRADUATING STUDENTS AND STAFF ARE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE KEYS.
9) Graduation begins at 9:00 pm WT

Well kiddos, school is practically over! Wow... I can't believe it, I followed a friend, to a college that I thought was going to be just, ridiculous, just because most colleges you go to on woozworld have 25 students in it all day, and aren't planned. I found out the first day of college and showed up, I was surprised how wonderful it was in organization. I thought I would just go a day and never show up again, well here I am writing on the blog as a Student Council and a graduate from day one. I can't believe how many friends and heh enemies I have made! I hope everyone I know and love will always keep in touch with me.

I know its been a tough year, with Sil not being able to get on everyday, and I know most of you didn't like some of us teaching or how we taught, but I want everyone to know, no matter who I argued with, I will always love each and every one of you sometimes argumentative and hardheaded students. (( Heh you know who you are<3 )) Although our setbacks, you guys are college graduates, and I hope you loved this year as much as I did. Also I hope to see you all in the future, because I am quitting for school, (:

Thank you to all Woozers Dinos. You have made this year an enjoyable success for all of us here at Woozers College. Sil, Ele and I have decided to QUIT UNTIL 2015. Woozers will flow for the rest of this week and on Friday you shall all Graduate. So get a Good Tux or Dress do your hair and prepare your words of thanks. This year has finished and we shall miss you all. But don't worry we'll be back. So thank you graduating class of 2014.

Whats Up with Me?

Well this is post has been a long time coming and idk why you deserved to hear this earlier but I couldn't really do it. But here I am now and I'll get straight to the point. I QUIT.
You all knew this was bound to happen either way because I only stay for the summer on woozworld and then leave for a year. A lot can happen in a year and that brings me to thinking about woozers.

This was the second year woozers opened and I am so proud and happy with the way it turned out. I worked hard on it and so have all of you putting by putting in your efforts to learn and do great things. It would make me happy to see that this continues but it eventually dies out over the year. but dont worry theres always next year. Hopefully we can rekindle this school because we sort of became a family, seeing each other everyday, talking, virtual memories. And I truly do hope that it can start up again with you true woozers students.

Now to the reason for why I'm leaving and where I've been. First of all I had been fasting this past month so I usually sleep through the fast because then you dont have to wait as much time. Complicated but yeah thats what happened. But also my cousin and grandma are visiting and I spend time with them so I don't get the chance to come online except to watch my tv shows (teen wolf and pretty little liars am i right? <3) And now why must I quit for a year? Well thats obvious school. This is my last year before my IB starts (complicated thing which basically is hard work and judges your career in highschool). I need to focus and I said the same thing when i left for starting freshman year (sophmore now ugh) and well woozworld wont really do that to me. I know you'l understand that Real Life Comes Before Woozworld.

Now about the college. Not many people are showing up and I dont really know where the student council is these days but if any of you would truly like to keep woozers going until of course you leave for school form a new student council? Appoint teachers? I dont know just whatever you'd like to do.

The camp btw has finished so if anybody in college wants to still do it (student council organize a day) and I'm sure you guys can plan some fun things, take pictures and put them up as the last even of woozers college 2014.

Now a little personal something going out to:

Cece: Where do I start? You're my princess and are friendship is going on about 3 years now. I still remember that shy girl that came to me from a deadline contest and in that moment did I know you were gonna be my best friend? No but look what happened. I can't imagine imagine my life without your bubbly, sometimes emo, and shy personality. I know you'd literally beat anybody up for me and I'd do the same. Thanks for sticking with me no matter whats happened. Idk where you've been this summer but please keep messaging me and I'll see you soon my princess <3

Ginger: Ah you pretty much know how much I love you. You're my everything from my wife, my soulmate ;), my sister, my twin and of course my best friend. We've been friends since deadline :O and of course with woozers since last year we've become even closer. I can tell you anything, you make me laugh and you genuinely care about me which is why I wouldn't survive woozworld without you. Idk where you've been these last few days but I love you so much and am gonna miss you like crazy. Then I'm going to scream and hug you like crazy when i get back.

Soy: Grandma loves you very much and I promise when I come back I'll make you tons of gluten free cookies ;) But seriously it's weird to see people become so close in such little time. I still remember you being that girl who came to class the first day, tried out for student council and ended up being one of my best friends. We argue like sisters, we disagree but at the end of the day I don't know where I'd be without you. I love you so much, keep in touch bae, goodluck in school and watch a lot more twilight <3

Ele: You may or may not be reading this but here we go. You seriously mean the world to me and its rare to find someone be from your own country and have so much in common. You're adorable and innocent xDD even when you dont think so. You always make me smile and you are just always there for me which makes me so happy to call you one of my best friends. I love you so much love, and keep making people smile because it's one of your best qualities. I miss you already and good luck with your school.

Fred: I can't even remember how long we've been friends but each year we end up making more and more hilarious memories. I seriously think we need to make a movie because the two of us just make the best scripts and are incredible actors ;) We fight a lotttttt but thats because you're like a brother to me and its good entertainment haha. You make me laugh and can always brighten my day. I can always relate to your asian problems which is great too. I love you sahhh much bae and dont miss me too much ;)

Tre: Where to begin? You've been there for me through thick and thin. We've had our ups and downs, we don't always agree but thats what best friends do, they have disagreements. I know you're always looking out for me because you're like that older brother that always cares about me and I may come off as too strong sometimes but its because you keep me up like that. You keep us all together, calm and composed and you make me laugh especially when you wear all the weird clothes you have in your inventory. I love you Tre and I'm gonna miss you so much.

C: Where would I be without my own support system? ;) You always keep me calm about all the craziness that goes on. I remember you were a pain in my butt that first day of college but I guess opposites attract because we ended up being best friends in basically a day. I will go to my grave convincing you that Dylan O'Brien is the cutest bae ever and that I don't think your band guys are hot xD (well not all of them anyways). But honestly thanks for listening to all my rants and dealing with my mood swings. I wish we could've talked more though but I love you C, and I'm so glad we met this summer.

Jaz: We've had a fair few of fights and its usually always me that messes stuff up so I don't know how you've stuck with me this long. Your bubbly personality always makes me smile and I will miss our weird pc's like crazy. You found me this first day this summer so it was only fitting this picture was put up. That'll hopefully happen again next year and I'll smile just like this photo when I see you again. Thanks for being one of my best baes. I love you <3

The staff has decided we ALL need a break xD. So Tomorrow Wednesday 22nd June 2014. The school will be CLOSED. Yep what makes a college ; Ditch Day.Use the day for some rest and relaxation.   So tomorrow, July 22, Wednesday, I am going out of town, I think for two days and one night but not positive. About Today (July 18)

Hai guys Jenny here! Okai so today I was teaching alone because soy was at a baseball game, I think Happy died, Ele quit, Fred was hiding in the shadows, and ginger is on vacation. and your  guys behavior during the first class AND lunch were INTOLERABLE!!!! Just because I was teaching alone doesn't mean like you act so rude! Me and soy already discussed this, but now she wants to quit AND the school is gonna SHUT DOWN  IF YOU KEEP ACTING LIKE THIS!! Baseball Tryout Information Bellow

Hey guys! So today ( 7/11/14 ) Was supposed to be Baseball tryouts, that didn't work out very well, I won't go into full detail. . . But I am going to do baseball tryouts, tomorrow! Information below!

Hey guys Home Ec. was amazing today. You guys really behaved and had alot of fun. We had a fashion show...learned to cook some stuff and had some games and contests. If you missed the cooking aspect here are the recipes and instructions. Cool right you can make it at home ( With a adults help).

1) Choclate Cake

Ingredients
Butter, for greasing the pans
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for pans
2 cups sugar
3/4 cups good cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup buttermilk, shaken
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 extra-large eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup freshly brewed hot coffee
Chocolate Buttercream, recipe follows
Chocolate Frosting:
6 ounces good semisweet chocolate (recommended: Callebaut)
1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 extra-large egg yolk, at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon instant coffee powder



Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter two 8-inch x 2-inch round cake pans. Line with parchment paper, then butter and flour the pans.

Sift the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment and mix on low speed until combined. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry. With mixer still on low, add the coffee and stir just to combine, scraping the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 30 minutes, then turn them out onto a cooling rack and cool completely.

Place 1 layer, flat side up, on a flat plate or cake pedestal. With a knife or offset spatula, spread the top with frosting. Place the second layer on top, rounded side up, and spread the frosting evenly on the top and sides of the cake.

Chocolate Frosting:
Chop the chocolate and place it in a heat-proof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Stir until just melted and set aside until cooled to room temperature.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter on medium-high speed until light yellow and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the egg yolk and vanilla and continue beating for 3 minutes. Turn the mixer to low, gradually add the confectioners' sugar, then beat at medium speed, scraping down the bowl as necessary, until smooth and creamy. Dissolve the coffee powder in 2 teaspoons of the hottest tap water. On low speed, add the chocolate and coffee to the butter mixture and mix until blended. Don't whip! Spread immediately on the cooled cake.

Ingredients
For the Crust:
Vegetable oil, for greasing
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, diced
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar, plus more for garnish
1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:
4 large eggs, plus 2 egg yolks
2 cups granulated sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 8 lemons)



Directions
Make the crust: Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan with vegetable oil and line with foil, leaving a 2-inch overhang on all sides; grease the foil with oil. Pulse the butter, flour, both sugars and the salt in a food processor until the dough comes together, about 1 minute. Press evenly into the bottom and about 1/2 inch up the sides of the prepared pan, making sure there are no cracks. Bake until the crust is golden, about 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, make the filling: Whisk the whole eggs and yolks, sugar and flour in a bowl until smooth. Whisk in the lemon zest and juice. Remove the crust from the oven and reduce the temperature to 300 degrees F. Pour the filling over the warm crust and return to the oven. Bake until the filling is just set, 30 to 35 minutes.

Let the bars cool in the pan on a rack, then refrigerate until firm, at least 2 hours. Lift out of the pan using the foil and slice. Dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
